First Day at Home

Ben is still in a lot of pain from the bone marrow extraction yesterday. Heating pads and tylenol with codeine are helping.

Although David's 5th birthday was last week, his party is today. Ben unfortunately will have to stay home with Nicole's parents while we go to the party. :(

Nicole, Scott, Ben, and David,

Betsey, Kyle, and I are very excited to hear that Ben has returned home! That is excellent news. We really appreciate the effort you are making to keep us apprised of developments. There are LOTS of people who care about you, all around the world.

Ben: Your cousin Kyle recently turned 3. He wanted me to let you know that he's thinking about you and wishes you well. He also asked me to tell you that it's OK to be afraid of shots. He has diabetes and gets shots every day. He said that everyone's afraid of shots at first, but it gets a LOT easier. He said he knows this from experience and promises that it's true.

David: Happy birthday to you! Turning 5 is a big deal, congratulations! We also wanted to thank you for all the help and support you have given your mom and dad and your brother over the past few weeks. You have shown a lot of courage too, and everyone is very proud of you. You and Ben make one dynamic duo! Your mom and dad are very lucky to have you.

Ben and David, I'm not sure if you remember our dog Grace, but she also sends her love :)

Love,
Mike, Betsey, and Kyle

Ben - I can't tell you how impressed I am that you were able to get out of the hospital after only 2 weeks! You're like the Michael Jordan of fighting leukemia! Keep up the incredible work! All of us in The West Bank are cheering you on!
